Accessibility and navigation

  • This web site was created on the basis of content accessibility guidelines from the WAI, a body created by the W3C to inform, investigate and promote work on web accessibility. Accordingly, the standard formats established by the W3C are used.
  • This site complies with all priority 2 items on the Checklist of Checkpoints for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 issued by the WAI. Those guidelines were checked manually and were also reviewed automatically using tools such as TAWDIS.NET.
  • The pages have been validated as XHTML 1.0 Transitional and their visual presentation is based on CSS2 cascading style sheets, which were also validated.
  • All pages are tagged to give an appropriate idea of their structure. Accordingly, the site can be browsed satisfactorily without styles, or using screen readers.
  • The font size is variable, i.e. it can be increased or decreased using the options built into the user browser.
  • Images carry an ALT attribute and/or a TITLE attribute to describe their function.
  • Acronyms are indicated with a dotted underline. Holding the cursor over an acronym displays a full description. (Example: W3C).
  • Keyboard shortcuts are provided for quicker browsing..

To jump to the sections using keyboard shortcuts, press ALT plus the key corresponding to the section, followed by Enter (Return). If this does not work, try SHIFT + ESC + section key (in browsers such as Opera).

The pre-defined keyboard shortcuts are described below:

    Alt + 1 + Enter: Personal Profile
    Alt + 2 + Enter: Documents
    Alt + 3 + Enter: Recommended Links
    Alt + 4 + Enter: Contact
    Alt + 5 + Enter: Legal Notice
    Alt + 6 + Enter: Accessibility
